Family update

Well the school year is about to wrap up and we are ready for summer. The pool opens this weekend and it is all the kids can talk about. It should be a fun summer since all the kids like the water and can swim with life jackets - so I won't have to worry as much and can enjoy it to. I am going to have Miles begin swimming lessons - they are offered at our pool so it is easy. Baseball season is almost over - we are 5-3-1. We have 3 more games and then the tournament. Miles has improved alot. I have been playing catch with him and he is getting more consistent at catching and fielding the ball and he has gotten good at hitting. Jackson can't wait until he can play this fall! Miles brought home his report card and has a "M" (Mastered)in every category! I guess this means he has Mastered everything that Kindergarten has to offer and is ready to move on to the first grade - time flies. Jackson loves preschool and has even come out of his shell and began talking to his teachers. He talks non stop at home but is shy at church and school! Addison is talking a ton and beginning to potty train herself. If mom was motivated it would be done. She gets on the toilet herself and has started to tell me. I bought some pull-ups and am going to begin - it would be nice not to buy diapers! She is still running the house but is so dang cute it is hard to say no to her. David has been traveling quite a bit but should slow down after next week. He has been in Minneapolis MN and got to go to the Mall of America! Since my days seem to drag on and on - (time slows down when your parents are on a mission only three months seem like eighteen!)I am concentrating on projects especially food storage right. I have access to the stake canner this next week and have been buying every kidney and black bean from the stores. The cashier asked me if I liked beans when I bought 100 bags (they only come in 1 pound bags)! David wants to can ding dongs imagine that!! That is about all that is happening here in the great state of Texas - We will have more pictures soon!

Addison

Here are some pictures of Addison. She is loves to play outside in the dirt and the other day she came in very messy - had dirt all over her PJ's and in her mouth. The other pictures is her bite wound - it was actually the same kid who bit Marcus (she Jeff and Camille's blog) and I think it is the exact same place!

Weather

It was a week ago but since the kids keep talking about it I thought I would share our experience last Thursday morning. I awoke at a little after 4am to the sounds of tornado alarms. I quickly ran upstairs and woke up the kids and brought them downstairs. I went in and woke up David (he sleeps through everything know that he wears his oxygen mask!) We put the kids in the hall closet and turned on the TV - we waited about 30 minutes until the storm past by. We did get lots of wind and rain but luckily no tornado here. Although the next day they did confirm 5 tornado's around the metroplex even one in Allen which is only 5 miles or so actually not for from Mom and Dad's condo! The kids were calm but pretty funny as they sat in the closet. Miles talked about how he was going to write a story about it, Jackson was the most concerned just sat there, and Addison ate Cheetos! The next day Jackson's teacher said they heard all about it and he swapped stories with another kid who was hanging out in the bathtub. Jackson also only want me to draw tornado's for him! Hopefully we really never have to experience one!

Grandpa & Grandma Hinckley's Visit

Grandpa & Grandma Hinckley came for a visit over conference weekend. They were able to see Miles play two t-ball games, go have lunch with Miles at school, visit Texas Roadhouse (since Miles favorite food is now steak), and a trip to the aquarium downtown. The kids really enjoyed the aquarium since they have expanded it and there are lots of sharks. They have build a tunnel to walk through where the sharks are all around you. We had lots of fun during their visit!

Girls are Sugar n Spice and everything nice - NOT

So Addison just turned 21 months on Sunday and the power struggle between mother and daughter has already begun. She is one strong willed little girl who thinks she know everything and can do everything. One Sunday I dressed her in a cute blue gymboree dress which I had actually splurged and bought the matching shoes - which yes cost more than the dress! Addison would not wear them - she had to wear her black Sunday shoes - I finally gave up and let her - so much for cute shoes. Addison loves to follow mom around the house and try to do all the chores mom does - which actually isn't a help at all - so usually tears up everything I do - I have found she hates the vacuum so when I need a break from her - I turn on the vacuum and she runs and hides! Mom and Dad won't believe this one - she takes her clothes off and changes them 3-4 times a day. I grow very weary of constantly changing her clothes - not to mention most of it ends up going through the laundry again! She is a very high maintenance little girl but also has the cutest smile in the world, has dad tied around her little finger (and we wonder why she is spoiled),and gives the best hugs and kisses in the world!! She is a handful but we still love her!

PS I have also almost got her weaned - I cut it back and won't let her nurse at all except when she wakes up at 5am and I want her to back to sleep and even then - she stops and grabs her sippy of water! Almost done!!
