Disneyworld

We have been home from our trip for a week and thought I would get the pictures posted! We had alot of fun on our trip - DisneyWorld is huge and fun but for the ages of my kids I would have just rather gone to Disneyland! I am sure we will go back one day but we have gotten our Disney fix for the time being.

Highlights -

Addison's face meeting all the princesses - it was really fun
Miles and Jackson got to do the Jedi training and fight Darth Vader
Sadie being part of the Monster Inc Laugh Floor presentation

Kids all got their swords - can't leave without the sword!

We enjoyed the rides - Addison is our dare devil - she did them all - except that at some rides she was 40" and at some she was not - she would scream when they said she is not tall enough. I was like um she just did Tower of Terror and was 40" and she is not for the Big Thunder railroad? Jackson on the other had would not try anything and was scared on Snow White's great adventure.

The parks were empty - weather so so - dealt with a little rain but overall it was a good time and I am glad we went! Also - Sadie was an angel - she literally did not cry once! She just ate, slept and loved to ride in the front of the stroller taking in all the sight!

Lastly - huge thanks to my parents - we could not have pulled it off without them - if we hadn't had their help we would have probably come home with only 3 kids instead of 4!! Thanks so much - we love having you with us!

Snow Day!!

We got lots of snow and being Texas they cancelled school! (Being from Idaho this is just a skiff of snow) I know why I live in Texas - I hate the in and out tracking in water - wet clothes! Probably would help if we owned some "snow gear!" My kids were soaked but enjoyed playing in the snow, building a fort etc. Best part is the hot chocolate after!!

Miles is 8!

My little baby turned 8! Can't believe how fast the time has gone - We had lots of fun with Grandpa and Grandma Hinckley and Grandpa and Grandma Miles. He still has his friend birthday to go! His baptism was very nice. I am very proud of Miles - he has turned into a very kind, smart, all-around good kid.

Famous Baby!!

So tonight David was given tickets to the Mavericks game. We knew they were pretty good tickets but when we got there we found out how good they were. We were on the third row on the FLOOR! Yes we could read the players tatoo's that is how close.
Basketball games are really fun when you are that close. In the fourth quarter they put Sadie on the Jumbo Tron! I have been to a lot of games and never made the Jumbo Tron - she does it on her first game!!! Then with about 1:30 left Mavs called a time out and the Mascot came and asked to take the baby - so we handed her over - he took her to the center of the court and danced around with her and again she was on the Jumbo Tron. Of course everyone thought she was adorable - who can blame them! The guy behind me was like are you ok with that - I said sure if he drops her I will get lots of money!! As we left the game we had about 20 people aske if she was the famous baby! So for one night our baby was the famous baby from the Mavericks Game!!

Sadie is 8 weeks today - it has flown by! Here are just some pictures of what we have been up to!

There are some pictures taken by Mandie McMurdie - makes me wish I would have had someone good take some pictures of the other kids when they were newborns!

Sadie

After a very long pregnancy, Sadie was born Wednesday, October 7th at 10:49 am. I had really wanted to go into labor by myself but at my appointment on October 1st I just looked at the Dr. and said I'm done. I was physically, mentally and emotionally done! We scheduled the induction for the 7th. I went in for one more appointment on the 6th which verified the need to take her - she still hadn't gained any weight.
They started the Pitocin Wednesday morning around 8 and off we went - doesn't take much to get me going. It didn't take long until I wanted the blessed epidural. Of course it didn't work on the left side. I got to a 6 and was in pain on that left side - it was 10:15 they got the anesthesiologist up to my room and they checked me again and I was an 8 it was 10:30. As he was trying to get me numb on the left I looked at David and said I need to push. David just looked at me and again I said I need to push. David still just stood there. I said you need to get someone I need to push. The anesthesiologist ran opened to door and yelled for the nurses as David called for them. They all came running in - telling me not to push. They said Dr. Jacobs is coming. Dr. Jacobs came in out a breathe as she was sprinting. They got her gown and gloves on right as I had the next contraction - finally I got to push. One push and she was here. Not hard to birth a 6lb - 19.5 inch baby!
We found out why she hadn't been growing - the cord was double knotted - something they had never seen and it was very thin in a section. The Dr. Jacobs just looked at me and said this cord is really bad - good thing we got her out! We are very grateful that she was born healthy!
I got an upper respiratory infection while in the hospital so I didn't get to spend much time with Sadie but we have been home for 24 hours now and she is a very sweet, beautiful baby.
