Baseball season

Well it is baseball season again. This year we are playing competitive t-ball as opposed to non-competitive. The difference being is that we keep score this year and we count outs -so not everyone gets to bat each inning. Miles has improved especially his batting - we are still working on throwing and catching - but he seems to be enjoying it. We won the first game 20-16 so we are off to a good start. We will see how many games get canceled due to weather as last year over half are games were changed because of rain/lightening storm - you gotta love Spring in Texas!

Easter Dress

It's Easter which means time for new Sunday clothes. I couldn't wait til Easter - we broke
them out early not to mention that Addison has a couple of Easter dresses that I picked up last year in NYC on clearance. Face it - it's all about dressing up the princess!

Miles School

Miles had an open house at school yesterday. He was able to show us all around his classroom and all the things he does during the day. His favorite thing is writers workshop where he has written a couple pretty funny stories. He really listens in school he comes home everyday with lots of new knowledge. He has really been big on the nutrition thing - I am glad someone has been able to teach him - you can actually reason with him now to get him to eat things (most of the time!) As you can see he wants to be an Astronaut when he grows up. Miles has really grown up this past year. He has gotten very responsible and is a very big helper at home for his mom!

Cool Rider

Addison loves to be outside and especially loves to ride her train. She takes it to the top of the driveway, puts her feet up and flies down the driveway across the street to the neighbors driveway (don't worry we watch for cars!) She picks up some serious speed but has no fear!

Funny things they say!

As we continue to try to "wean" Addison from nursing - I realized today by a comment Jackson made that they have seen and heard way too much. Jeff and Camille were here this afternoon and when their two month old starting crying Jackson asked what was wrong. Camille told him she was hungry and asked if he wanted to feed her - his reply was quite funny. As he lifted up his shirt he said, "my boobs aren't big enough - they are just little." We got quite the chuckle!!

Tea Party

Miles came to me yesterday to invite me to a tea party! When I came out they had all the food set up. He has been learning about nutrition in school so he had the food divided. He had all the fruit/vegetables in one bowl, a hot dog and some cheese in another bowl and then in the last bowl he had the chips, a donut, and cookies. He told me we couldn't eat the sugar food because it was bad for us and would put black spots on our teeth. Then he grabbed the tea pot and said we don't drink coffee or tea it is bad for our tummies we only drink milk, orange juice, and water - Sprite and Rootbeer also have sugar so we shouldn't drink them. I am hoping with all this new information he has gotten that I can get him to eat more fruit and vegetable. He really listens in school - always has new information - the more he knows the easier it is to reason with him!!

They do Listen

Last night we were driving home from a baptism when we heard this conversation. Miles told Jackson, "Jesus is right here next to us and he is around us all the time, but we can't see Him because we have earth eyes that won't let us see him." Jackson said, "yeah our earth eyes can't see him but he his here." It was really cute - we are thankful they are listening and learning from us and their teachers!

Snow in March?

It is true what they say - you don't like the weather in Texas just wait a few hours. In the last few days we have had a little of everything. Saturday was mid 70's, Sunday was 60's with rain, then last night (Monday) at about 8 pm it starting snowing - at first it wasn't sticking but we woke up to the sight of snow. Jackson wanting to have a "snow fight" and build a snowman but the snow was really hard. The kids loving seeing the snow. It took David 15 minutes to clean the snow and ice off his car - not used to that!! Anyway it is supposed to be 56 degrees today so it will be gone soon!
